Five free beaches of Lake Balaton renew settlement summer
five villages of the south-west of Lake Balaton HUF 1.4 billion won support development of free beaches of the Hungarian Tourist Agency (MTU) competition, which family-friendly developments, vizesblokk- and lighting renovations, street furniture exchanges can be implemented, and on playgrounds running and athletic fields to be built by the end of June - Balatonboglár sounded a press conference on Thursday.
Attila József Móring (KDNP), the parliament representative of the region, said that the municipalities concerned managed to win almost half of the MTÜ's budget for free beach developments. The free beaches will be more comfortable, modern and safer, which will make the area even more attractive, he emphasized. The investments must be ready for the summer season, which hopefully will not be hindered by the lack of capacity in the construction industry, said the representative.
György Galácz, the independent mayor of Balatonmáriafürdő, said that the settlement's two free beaches can be developed for a total of HUF 90 million, for which technical preparations have already begun. He added that each beach can apply for an additional HUF 20-25 million in development funds for the establishment of family-friendly services in the settlement.
According to István Kenéz, the independent mayor of Balatonlelle, the settlement won HUF 200 million in support for the development of its free beach with a long stretch of coastline, of which, among other things, 4,000 square meters of paving will be installed, 30 solar lamps, benches, trash cans, water entrances will be installed, and water blocks will be renovated.
Miklós Mészáros, the Fidesz mayor of Balatonboglár, said that all six of their free beaches will be renovated: the two larger ones received HUF 100 million each, the four smaller ones 50 million HUF each. For small children, a sandy beach section with a small filling will be created, and street furniture and water blocks will be renewed, candelabras will be placed, and adult playgrounds will be established next to the children.
József Hidvégi, the mayor of Fonyód (Fidesz-KDNP), announced that 5 of the city's 10 free bathing spots are classified as free beaches, and they received HUF 450 million in support for their development. Among other things, child-friendly water blocks and a new water adventure park will be created. Children's and adult playgrounds will be built, and there will also be a room for babies and mothers. The 1.2-kilometer stretch along the Árpád coast, whose promenade is used by many people for running and jogging, will be turned into a record-paved running track.
The mayor missed the fact that the renovation of coastal protection works was left out of the tenderable targets, but he hopes, however, that there will be funds to solve the problem later. Until then, in order to protect the values that are now being created, the local government will provide sufficient coastal protection from its own resources, he added.
Gábor Lombár, the independent mayor of Balatonfenyves, said that the central beach of the settlement, which has a kilometer of coastline, can be developed for 200 million forints, and another for 50 million forints. In addition to the renovation of the walkway, the replacement of street furniture and public lighting, and the renovation of toilets, there will be special features in the pine forest. A cone playground is being built on the large beach, and the changing cabins are manufactured from synthetic resin sheets made from needles collected in the settlement. A beach soccer field will be built on the big beach, which can be used as handball and beach volleyball fields, and from October I want to operate it as an artificial ice field. Another element of the season extension will be the installation of ten wood-heated székelydezsa around the track, he added.
