This year, most domestic travel according to a survey
This year, the majority of Hungarians are planning their trip for 2-3 weeks, by car, domestically and staying in a hotel, the trend has not changed, such trips were the most popular last year as well - revealed the research of the Bónusz Brigád and GKI Digital at the beginning of the year.
According to the survey sent to MTI, 65 percent of the respondents would like to travel several times this year. The majority (66 percent) want to go to a place they haven't been to before, but the place has been on their list for a long time. The others would go to a place where they have already been, but they want to go back. An even higher proportion of 30-39 year olds (62 percent) would go to places they have already visited, and 18-29 year olds would prefer to visit a new place (76 percent).
Research by Bónusz Brigád and GKI Digital also revealed that, according to the plans, 81 percent of respondents plan to vacation domestically in 2019, but at the same time, 58 percent also plan to travel to non-neighboring countries in Europe. Half of the respondents would rest in a neighboring country.
City visits, wellness and waterfront vacations are still the three most popular programs, with around 60 percent of respondents voting for all three. 14 percent of the participants in the research do not care about the destination, just relax.
According to the announcement, two-thirds of the respondents plan to stay in a hotel, 56 percent in an apartment, and every fifth respondent plans to stay in a private house. If they could, every third person would spend more than 3 weeks away from home, but only every fifth respondent sees this as a realistic chance. Two out of three people will travel with their partner, even if they won a trip, only a third of people would take their close family, most of them would only go on a prize trip with their partner. The destination of the prize trip would remain within Europe for most (28 percent), but nearly the same number would also choose a free trip to America.
The research also touched on the fact that most people (73 percent) plan to travel by car, while fewer, only 64 percent, would take a flight. According to the survey, trips organized entirely by travel agencies are not popular: 68 percent of respondents organize everything themselves, search for programs and information independently, and only one in four people entrusts themselves to a travel agency.
