The government commissioner also mentioned that many other adventure opportunities are being added to the offer of the resort region. He also emphasized the importance of spending active free time in connection with the fact that, according to recently published statistics, Hungary has the most obese people in Europe. As he explained, this means that, for example, those who go to Zamárdi with a kayak can also return with a bicycle. They want to ensure the logistics of this with an application. In response to MTI's questions, he said that five of the Balaton Kayak-Canoe Points are expected to be fully completed this year, while the ones in Siófok and Füredi, which are being implemented as a joint project with the yacht harbor, will be delayed until next year. The project, implemented in a joint consortium with municipalities, will operate as a complete network from next year, he added.
Speaking about the Balaton crossing scheduled for Saturday, the president of the association told MTI that there are already more entries than last year, when about 1,300 people completed the Fonyód-Badacsony distance with their watercraft. This year, many accompanying programs await participants. An international campaign has not yet been organized for the Balaton Crossing, they plan to take the program to the international stage next year - said Gábor Schmidt.
