Doubling the turnover of the national holiday hotels
Domestic tourism turnover more than doubles during the long weekend that coincides with the national holiday compared to the usual figures in March, the average booking value is HUF 50,000 and is typically for two nights, and wellness is the most popular among accommodations, according to Szállás.hu from his recent analysis.
In its statement sent to MTI on Wednesday, the accommodation booking portal highlights: after the four-day break at the beginning of the year, this is the second long weekend this year, and the desire to travel has increased. The average booking value is about a fifth higher than usual for the period - Nóra Keresztes, marketing manager of Szallas.hu, is quoted in the announcement.
According to the survey, guests plan to pay for every fifth holiday with a SZÉP card, the average value of the holidays being HUF 62,000. Apartments, four- and three-star hotels receive the most guests, two-thirds of the bookings are for one of these.
Hajdúszoboszló, Eger and the capital can count on the largest visitor traffic. Many people also travel to Szeged, Gyula and Hévíz. Pécs, Siófok, Miskolctapolca and Debrecen also made it to the top list of the most popular settlements.
According to data from Szallas.hu, the most attractive of Hungary's attractions are the Miskolctapolca Cave Spa, Festetics Castle and Eger Castle.
Among the counties, Heves (12.8 percent), Pest (9.1 percent) and Zala (8.5 percent) benefit from the traffic.
Most of the bookings are for domestic destinations, while those traveling abroad typically visit Poland or the Czech Republic, explained Nóra Keresztes.
