The interior of the vehicle, which has a true-to-age appearance but is much more comfortable compared to the journeys of the old days, can accommodate four adults and two children, and it can transport two more passengers on the outer seats. With the help of the video and audio system in the horse-drawn carriage, passengers can be enriched with interesting information even during the journey.
The yellow-dark green, 3.5-meter-long wagon with metal spoked wheels was made in the wagon maker Alajos Tóth's workshop of the Jaszárokszállás and will be pulled by two horses. The vehicle was designed and built by the Helikon Castle Museum, which has also operated a Carriage Museum for a long time, as part of the Hungarian-Slovenian project called World of Horses.
Also within the framework of the project, four hiking trails in Keszthely and its region will await those who want to explore the sights of the area by horse-drawn carriage. The route called the Festetics circuit offers a spectacular tour within the city limits of Keszthely, touching on the sights related to the noble family. The road, named after the natural values ​​of the Keszthely Mountains, takes visitors to the Gyenesdias Nature House, the Nagymező and the Imre Festetics animal park.
The tours of the Georgikon Faculty of the Pannon University, which also participates in the project, lead to the Gyöngyös csárda and the outlaw graves to the Peace Stupa in Zalaszántó and several interesting sights in the area, and starting on Fenyves avenue, they lead to the Kis-Balaton, touching the Szendrey Júlia memorial house, the Georgikon equestrian center and Fenékpuszta.
The World of Horses - a new dimension of sustainable development project named for the cross-border quality experience of natural and cultural gems is realized with the support of the Slovenia-Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Program. In the project, the Helikon Castle Museum in Keszthely and the Georgikon Faculty of Pannon University collaborate with the Zavod Nazaj na konja (Back to Horses Institute) and the Rakican Castle Research and Training Center (RIS Dvorec Rakican) in Slovenia.
According to the previous information of the participants, the joint project will be realized from 818 thousand euros.
